What is a MHFA Champions course?
An MHFA Champions course is a great way to increase awareness of mental health conditions in the workplace and improve confidence and practical skills for having a supportive conversation with a colleague in distress. The course covers many of the same themes as the MHFAider program in a more condensed format. The course is a mix of presentation, individual reflective activities and a collaborative group case study which can be tailored to your specific workplace.
Anyone can attend this course but it is most popular with people management as there is a key responsibility to be able to support your direct reports however these individuals may not have the capacity to take on a full MHFAider role.
Who should attend a MHFA Champions course?
- This course is aimed at line Managers & HR teams
- Job roles who have regular interactions with their teams but can not commit to the full MHFAider course
- Personal experience is neither a necessity nor a deterrent to complete this course
- Many organisations will make this mandatory training for all managers
